If you think back to a big goal you achieved or a challenge you resolved, there was probably a time or two where you wanted to quit. You may even have hoped someone would do it for you.
As Marva says in the quote, the determination to succeed and the ability to keep going despite the obstacles is critical to success. Being responsible for our own success and not waiting to be rescued is also critical. This latter bit is especially important for women as we grow up with fairy tales telling us that Prince Charming will save us only to find out that isn’t true – at least for most women.
From personal experience, I’ve felt more fulfilled achieving goals that had challenges along the way than those that had none.
