I think Martin Luther King Jr. is referring to ‘things that matter’ on a large scale (equal rights for all, environment etc.) as well as at a personal level (our dreams for our lives etc.). If we stop working towards something that matters, that inner light or spirit seems to wane.

It would be a challenge for most celebrities to learn to dance and compete in “Dancing with the Stars.” To do that when yo can’t hear the music would be even more challenging. Yet that’s what Marlee is doing.
The clip below has two parts. The first part shows Marlee and her dancing partner sharing a bit about themselves and training for the show. The second part shows them competing on the show.

Luckily there are no lions in N. Vancouver. Well I guess there could be cougars.
But seriously… If you have a challenge or problem you’re trying to solve, it may help to look at it from different perspectives. The view from the base of the tree is much different than the view from the top.

As you can see in this photo, the water doesn’t try to flow up the steep sides of the canyon. It simply follows the contours of the river banks.
